A basic summary for accessible material is: Universal design for learning (UDL) Making your learning materials accessible Providing alternate formats of materials      Accessible materials ensure that individuals with disabilities can access the information contained in your materials.  These same changes will help all students, regardless of ability, with a variety of learning needs. Competence in Guidance And Special Pedagogy (Webinar 6)

Date: (29-11-2023) By: Abeeda Khan In this blog post  I will share my thoughts on the topic mentioned above. All the key questions and points were discussed by the different group members with the collaboration of each other. Though a few of our peers could'nt  join the webinar due to some personal reasons. But all the participants shared their useful knowledge about the topic and our respected tutors also guided us at some points. To move forward, I would start from the part of webinar that was done by me. Key questions: What does the inclusion means in practice? What does the concept of accessibility means in educational context? What is a pedagogically accessible environment?                                                    In my presentation I shared my knowledge (that was collected through my own research, my group fellows' help and some link...

By Abeeda Khan 15.11.2023 (Safety Competence And Pedagogical Welfare) Our fifth webinar was about "Importance of pedagogical well-being in teaching ang guidance, and creating safe study environment." Some people worked in a group and some of us prepared our own presentation but as a whole discussion this webinar have been quite informative and insightful. Despite of sick condition of a few of our peers, they presented everything diligently. I personally joined the webinar a bit later but soon after joining I got involved in discussion and then presented my part. In this reflection I would like to pen down our discussion and the core points that we discussed in this webinar. First of all I'll talk about well-being. What is Well-being?  Well-being is the experience of health and happiness. However I participated in our group meetings and also contributed by provided links and information regarding the topic. For the rest of two groups, I went through their presentations and also watched the recorded session of all three groups. I would say that all the participants from three groups did the best job and provided informative material regarding the assigned topics. Reflection on our group topic: (Group 2) 1: What are the laws, key documents and principles that guide the planning of teaching and guidance in vocational and higher education? 2: What are amendments  and guidelines regulating, governing and providing the framework for assessment in vocational and higher education? 3: Real examples from actual assessment cases. First of all I would like to mention the laws informing planning of teaching. The Finni...

We had our fourth webinar on 18th of October. We reflected on the competence goal 4 that was: "You understand the meaning of assessment and feedback in higher education pedagogy, specifically peer assessment and feedback". First of all, we all participated in general meeting and discussed few points regarding assessment and feedback. Everyone came with quite meaningful thoughts about assessment and feedback in higher education. Some of those points are:  It accelerates the performance. It increase the power of learning and development. It's a way of improvement. It determines the new teaching and learning methodologies. Moreover, our tutors Marjukka and Juha also added useful points about assessment and feedback that: Giving feedback is always about respecting others. It should be positive and constructive. Getting feedback could be harder than receiving.  After having discussion in general meeting, we were then divided into small groups with our peers to discuss about a...
